Infusion therapy is the intravenous delivery of drugs, vitamins and minerals as prescribed by a physician.
What is infusion therapy?
What IV and injectable therapies does Infusion Express offer?
We offer all of the most commonly prescribed adult and pediatric intravenous and injectable therapies including those that treat Crohn’s disease, rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, osteoporosis, pediatric and adult immunotherapy, vitamin and mineral deficiencies, and immune system disorders. At this time we do not do chemotherapy.
Who do we treat?
We treat adults and pediatric patients.
Which insurances does Infusion Express accept?
We accept most major medical insurances including Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Coventry, Humana (commercial PPO), United Health Care and Medicare. Please call us to confirm that we accept your insurance plan.
I am getting infusions at home or at my doctor's office or at the hospital. What do I have to do in order to come to Infusion Express?
Please give us a call at 800-746-8147 or have your doctor’s office contact us. We will need your physician’s order for your medication. We will also need information about your health insurance so we can get a prior authorization to perform your infusion. Once we have those two things we can order your medications and schedule your infusion for a time that is convenient for you.
What are your hours?
Infusion Express offers weekday, evening and Saturday infusions by appointment only. Most insurances require prior authorization before we can perform the infusion. This can often take more than 24 hours to receive. Please call us with your physician contact and medication information so that we may set up your desired appointment time.
Is Infusion Express a safe place to get my IV?
We adhere to the same safety standards as your physician’s office and most hospitals. Our physician supervisors are available to us should a problem arise with your infusion, however our first step is to call your prescribing doctor. Should you have an adverse reaction, we have a complete stat kit and oxygen on hand and our locations are only a short distance from a nearby hospital emergency room.
What is a Myers Cocktail?
Baltimore physician, Dr. John Myer’s invented an intravenous nutrient mixture containing magnesium, calcium, various B vitamins and vitamin C. Dr. Myer’s believed that this “cocktail” would benefit people with a broad range of conditions including allergies, migraines, and general fatigue. We offer Myer’s Cocktails to the general public with a prescription provided by one of our supervising physicians for those who are generally healthy and have no known allergies to the Myer’s ingredients. Should your physician determine that your needs require modification to the basic Myer’s treatment we are happy to accept a physician’s order for variations of the basic formulation. Myers Cocktails are generally not covered by insurance.
